A unique blend of Tempranillo/Garnacha/Syrah/Cabernet. This wine is an enterprising blend of old vine vineyards made by famous family-owned producer Bodega Muriel, founded in 1926 by José Murúa Villaverde. Sourced from four classic grape varieties selected from several regions in central Spain blended to create a smooth, rounded, complex, characterful, red that defies its price. The extreme continental climate of the central Spanish plains - hot dry summers and cold winters are key to developing flavour intensity and ripe, rounded tannins. Grapes are hand-harvested crushed and destemmed then fermented in stainless steel for 10 days at cool temperatures to retain the purity of fruit. The wine is aged 4 years before release to develop character, integration and softness of texture.

This Chianti has a deep ruby colour, with reasonable depth and 'legs' indicating good structure. Perfumes of cherries and fresh red fruit, mingle with spicy, peppery notes. Lively and fresh in the mouth, with soft, rounded tannins. Good intensity, attractive structure and fine, long length.

Sangiovese 85%, Merlot 10% and other red grapes 5%. Red in colour, with rich chromatic nuances and a distinctly fruity bouquet where the cherry tone is mitigated by a hint of vanilla and cinnamon. The flavour reflects the spicy undertone of the aroma and is balanced by a fine tannic note. The wine is refined by placing it in French oak casks for 10 months.

Man O' War Island Blend is a Bordeaux style wine and is a blend of fruit from both Waiheke Island and its neighbouring Ponui Island. The blend is predominantly Cabernet Franc from their Paradise vineyard on Ponui Island with Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot coming from sites nestled in the sheltered valleys of Eastern Waiheke Island. Rich, ripe wine with sweet red berry fruit framed by chocolate and spice. The palate is softly textured with fine ripe tannins making for a decadent expression of a Cabernet Franc dominated blend.
