Double distilled in copper pot stills from a half tonne mash of NZ peated malt, the liquid was first aged in American oak for 4 years. This particular whisky was then finished for another year in Waiheke Whisky's own Waiheke Island Vintage 'Port wine' Barrel. Aroma: dark berry fruits, dried dates, orange peel, vanilla and peat smoke. Palate: rich and mouth filling with red fruits, caramel and smoke with a sweet subtle oak finish.
