Glenkinchie's Malt Master drew inspiration from the exquisite porcelain of China's great dynasties to create the oldest-ever Glenkinchie bottling direct from the distillery. Just as it took countless man-hours to create the precious vases of the great emperors, this rare whisky has been slowly matured for twenty-seven years to achieve an imperiously refined expression of its lush, floral flavours. A hint of fruit as the nose opens conjures an image of the apple orchard, soon joined by light touches of almond and vanilla, before lush meadow-grass aromas develop the floral theme. Smooth and pleasing in texture, the opulent and rounded taste starts lightly sweet and becomes elegantly drying, with a vibrant oaky spiciness that persists in the dry finish.

The Yamazaki Whisky is Suntory's flagship single malt whisky, from Japan's first and oldest malt distillery. With a range of options from Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve to 12, 18, and 25 years old, all of these prized whiskies contain carefully blended components aged in American, Spanish, and Japanese Mizunara oak.

As the legend goes, a brave knight forged a crown from a spirited battle lasting 26 years. Plunging through the River Ore in triumph, he carried his flag high, its long cerulean ribbons dissolving into the river's gentle flow, transforming the water into sweet, silken gold. There, a majestic distillery was born, and as the story has it, every 26 years since, the river runs gold once again, its lustrous character present in every dram. Rising with a golden quality in 1824, Cameron Bridge became the most enduring legacy of one of the oldest whisky dynasties. Regal, velvet and refined in its richness, its whiskies were renown for their silken and honeyed smooth character, a taste of which rippled around the world, with loyal subjects far and wide. This bold spirit gleams gold in the sun and swirls silky-smooth in the glass. Subtle aroma yields hints of spice, these savoury notes flanked by traces of hard toffee and shavings of fine oak. The smooth flowing texture carries a taste sweet with caramel toffee and intensely oaky-dry.

For our third experiment, Malt Master Brian Kinsman travelled to Canada to meet a renowned winemaker in Niagara. There he learned how the grapes had to be picked by moonlight at -10C to produce the intensely sweet Icewine. Upon his return to the Glenfiddich Distillery Brian started experimenting with several French oak Icewine casks from the Canadian winery, filling them with different Glenfiddich aged malts for up to six months. Only the rarer whiskies, those aged for 21 years, could cope with the extra Icewine intensity. The taste is a perfect combination of both pioneering liquids, the heightened candied sweets and oakiness of Glenfiddich are complemented by mouth-watering tropical fruit notes and a luscious sweetness from the unique Icewine cask finish. First released in October 2017, the long-awaited second batch is now available.

A moonlit glint of sleek steel flashes, a stunning presence in the sweet calmness of the night. Swiftly the katana, a sword crafted with complexity and precision, pierces the depths of darkness, revealing the bold mysteries of the midnight hour. Wielded with astonishing skill, it shines as a symbol of elegance and craftsmanship. Mortlach is famed for its sweet yet savoury taste, defiantly rare among Speyside malts. Moved by this contrasting spark of umami, their Malt Master drew inspiration from the flavours of Japan, and finished part of this stunning expression in ex-Kanosuke Japanese Whisky casks. To add balance to the sweetness, ex-Pinot Noir casks were used to finish the remaining part of the whisky, in a combination of the utmost precision. A striking golden gleam introduces sweet, alluring aromas of ripe melon and pear. On the palate, drily spiced savoury flavours cut through a scintillating sweetness. These contrasting notes entwine, to create a brilliant umami-rich depth of taste that lingers in the long, enticing and spicy finish. The result is a sweet-savoury intensity as deep and complex as the mark of the mighty katana.

This wonderful peated Japanese single malt whisky hails from Hakushu distillery, owned by Suntory. The distillery resides in the forests of Mt. Kaikomagatake, with the original Hakushu distillery built in 1973. Another building was added in 1981, called Hakushu Higashi. Rather fittingly, it boasts a fresh and foresty flavour profile.

Rémy Martin XO is composed of eau-de-vie coming exclusively from the most sought-after vineyards of Cognac: Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne. Rémy Martin XO is the signature of their Cellar Master who, with his expertise, manages to blend hundreds of eau-de-vie to perfectly express the full aromatic complexity of this XO Fine Champagne cognac. On the nose, sublimely smooth with an explosion of flower and fruit aromas to ignite the olfactory senses. An opulent progression through the palate: from ripe plum and candied orange, to spices and hazelnuts, finishing with gourmet notes of roasted cocoa beans and honeyed gingerbread. Smooth, full-bodied and long lasting.

Matured in a combination of the finest Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks for a minimum of 21 years, constantly watched over by the Parliament of Rooks who next at the Distillery, the outstanding whisky continues great GlenDronach tradition of offering fruit-laden intensity in its single malts.

In 1870, Maurice Hennessy created Hennessy X.O for his circle of friends and introduced a new style of cognac. Hennessy X.O is the Original, the emblematic icon of the Hennessy Maison. Deep and powerful, the eaux-de-vie of this Hennessy X.O cognac are aged in young barrels and marked out by their power and energy, but also by their capacity to achieve a great roundness through time.

Martell XO is Maison Martell's signature interpretation of the prestigious Grande Champagne terroir, it balances the power and intensity of Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie with the elegance of the rare Borderies cru, which has been the signature of Maison Martell for more than 300 years. On the nose, a piquant, spicy sensation with notes of black and pink pepper and coriander, rounded out by rich aromas of fig, walnut and sandalwood. On the palate, intense notes of fig, red fruit and blackcurrant bud give full expression to the power and finesse of eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne, leading into an exceptionally long and robust finish. Ideal for special occasions, Martell XO is best enjoyed neat, on ice or with a dash of water.

In 1909 Alexander Cowie used his most rare and special aged stock to create his own private release - a whisky he called Cowie's Blue Seal, a symbol representing the utmost quality. The barrels he chose were what he considered the best of the best-the select few among the brilliant Mortlach reserves - these were the stocks he deemed worthy of the 'Blue Seal'. Today, we've resurrected the symbol of the Blue Seal to mark our 20 year old release. This rich and beautiful single malt whisky is made from the barrels deemed to be of exceptional quality from the Mortlach reserves. A combination of Refill Casks with ex-Sherry casks allows the rich, robust spirit of the beast of Dufftown to come through, while growing in complexity and mellowing over 20 years to an elegant, balanced combination of pepper and cinnamon spice with smooth, mellow vanilla oak.

Using a style of Pot Still whiskey reflective of the Midleton Distillery tradition, Redbreast 21YO represents the ultimate expression of Redbreast Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey.
